A nine-member funk and soul aggregation co-led by Kaiya Matthews and Michael Judkins, the ADC Band recorded for Cotillion in the late '70s and early '80s. At their best, the cuts utilized the funk touches of Parliament/Funkadelic and Slave. The biggest hit was 1978's "Long Stroke," which made it to number six on the R&B charts.

When four young jazz virtuosos decided to join forces, the Rhythm Future Quartet was born. Named after a Django Reinhardt tune, the Rhythm Future Quartet performs dynamic and fiery arrangements of Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions. The quartet features Jason Anick on violin, Olli Soikkeli and Vinny Raniolo on guitars, and Greg Loughman on bass. Over the years they have individually been performing alongside notable musicians like John Jorgenson, Frank Vignola, Tommy Emmanuel, Bucky Pizzarelli, Andreas Öberg and Howard Alden and have finally joined forces to form this special group…

"Under Cover" is the third solo album of Joe Lynn Turner, released in 1997. It mostly consists of covers of artists that had a great influence on Turner. On the Japanese version of the album, Gimme Some Lovin' and I'm Your Man are two separate tracks instead of one. "Under Cover 2" is the 5th solo album of Joe Lynn Turner released in 1999. Just like Under Cover, the album consists mainly of covers of Turner's favourite artists. Due to successful sales of the previous edition, the label asked him to record a follow-up. The Race Is On is a re-recorded version of a song that appeared on Turner's solo debut album, Rescue You.

Latin American jazz singer Karen Souza, who has performed and recorded under the pseudonyms Pacha Ibiza, FTV (FashionTV), and Privé, is best known for her work on the popular jazz and '80s series, which featured sultry, jazz-infused covers of '8os hits like "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" (Culture Club) and "Personal Jesus" (Depeche Mode). Souza also contributed to '70s and '90s versions of the series as well.

In 2014 Sonata Arctica announced through their Facebook page that they had re-recorded the entire album for the 15th anniversary. The new edition is titled Ecliptica - Revisited; 15th Anniversary Edition and will be released on October 24, 2014, with the same track-listing as the original regular edition release plus one unreleased bonus track.

The young organist Pétur Sakari (aged just 21) has gathered five giants of the organ repertoire for his debut disc on BIS, performing on the famous organ of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont in Paris. The five composers are all interconnected – Charles Tournemire and Louis Vierne studied together (under Franck), Maurice Duruflé studied under Tournemire and was Vierne’s assistant at Notre Dame, and Marcel Dupré counted Vierne (and Widor) among his teachers and himself taught Olivier Messiaen.

Isang Yun was a Korean-born composer who made his later career in Germany. Yun's primary musical concern was the development of Korean music by the means of Western avantgarde music. After experimenting with 12-tone techniques Yun developed his own musical personality in his works of the early 1960s, post-serialistic "sound compositions". Yun's music employed techniques associated with traditional Korean music, such as glissandi, pizzicati, portamenti, vibrati, and above all a very rich vocabulary of ornaments. Essential is the presence of multiple-melodic lines, which Yun called "Haupttöne" ("central" or "main tones")…..

Streets is a rock band that Kansas vocalist STEVE WALSH formed in the 80s. They released two albums for Atlantic Records starting with 1983's 1st, and 1985's Crimes in Mind. The former featured the hit If Love Should Go, but both albums didn't do very well in the sales market, and Atlantic dropped them in 1985. Wounded Bird Records reissued both the band's albums on CD in 2002. "1st" is the debut album by American rock band Streets, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music).

Although he was indicted (along with Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and a number of other prominent Soviet musicians) for "formalism," in the infamous Zhdanov decree of 1948, Aram Khachaturian was, for most of his long career, one of the Soviet musical establishment's most prized representatives. Born into an Armenian family, in Tbilisi, in 1903, Khachaturian's musical identity formed slowly, and, although a tuba player in his school band and a self-taught pianist, he wanted to be a biologist, and did not study music formally until entering Moscow's Gnesin Music Academy (as a cellist) in 1922.
