From HearMusic's Opus Collection line comes Stepping Out of a Dream, a collection of Nat King Cole's higher quality songs as deemed by the compilation experts. The collection focuses on the work from the '50s and '60s, making only passing reference to his earlier piano work. The feature that sets this compilation apart from the numerous other Cole retrospectives is the song selection. The producers avoided the most obvious choices and the standards of Cole's career, replacing them with a number of basic standards from the jazz repertoire imbued with his outstanding sense of delivery and timing.

The other was the emergence of the piano duo, those popular and virtuosic two-piano teams that captured a big audience and toured widely. Some of these duos became superstars: Vronsky & Babin, Gold & Fizdale, Whittemore & Lowe, Luboshutz & Nemenoff are still remembered as masters of their trade and it is due to them and others like them that this new piano-and-orchestra repertoire was created. And this is the tradition that Joshua Pierce and Dorothy Jonas have revived and carried forward as the successors to those virtuosic piano duos of another era. It is logical that Pierce & Jonas have recorded – and, in some cases unearthed and revived – these masterpieces of 20th century two-piano-and orchestra repertoire. This 2-CD album containing seven of these works constitute the first volume; there will be six more in the forthcoming 2-CD second volume, making a bakers dozen of works in all, an extraordinary collection of original works for this medium by an extra-ordinary piano duo working in a grand tradition.

Bassist John Goldsby is one of many jazz artists who have departed from their native America to seek greater opportunities to perform and record in Europe. With fellow American John Marshall on trumpet and flügelhorn, along with Europeans Olivier Peters (tenor and soprano saxes), alto saxophonist Hayden Chisholm, pianist Frank Chastenier, and drummer Hans Dekker, Goldsby's session mixes standards, classic jazz works, and half a dozen originals.

Robin Jolivet (guitar) and Jérôme Masco (saxophone) met in 2015 in the jazz class of the Conservatory of Bordeaux in France. It was a great time to share inspiration and work together in different styles of music. A few years later, Robin decides to found the guitar-sax duet Robin & The Woods. The two musicians create a spontaneous and lyrical rock jazz music, inspired by progressive rock from the 70’s(King Crimson, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd) and modern jazz (EST, Pat Metheny, John Hollenbeck, Donny McCaslin). The music of the duet sways between a rich, dense writing style and some lighter sections with a lot of improvisation.
