Leon Konitz (October 13, 1927 – April 15, 2020) was an American composer and alto saxophonist.

Very popular during Chopin’s lifetime, the Waltzes have long been a favourite with professionals and amateurs alike. Highly virtuosic – most of them were clearly not intended to be danced – and sometimes melancholy, they nevertheless retain the distinctive lightness and grace that we associate with the genre.

After a life-threatening illness, Dagobert Böhm returns with a collection of dreamy pieces between folk and jazz. On it, Böhm’s sensitive guitar lines are complemented by Fender Rhodes, vintage synthesizers and discrete electronic beats. Guests like Karl Seglem on Saxophone, Knut Hem on dobro as well as pedal-steel and percussion virtuoso Ómar Guðjónsson add further impulses. Within a Dream is not supposed to turn the world of music upside down. It’s just supposed to make it a little more beautiful – more dreamlike, if you will.

The writing and recording of Once Twice Melody began in 2018 and was completed in July of 2021. Most of the songs were created during this time, though a few date back over the previous 10 years. Most of the recording was done at Apple Orchard Studio in Baltimore. Once Twice Melody was mixed largely by Alan Moulder but a few tracks were also mixed by Caesar Edmunds, Trevor Spencer, and Dave Fridmann.

Mexican five-piece Sei Still will return with their second album ‘El Refugio’ on November 26th via London’s Fuzz Club Records. The follow-up to their 2020 self-titled debut album marks a number of changes for the band. Not only have they upped sticks and moved from Mexico City to Berlin, but their sound has undergone a process of evolution too. Where the debut LP was an exercise in mesmerising Krautrock channeling the likes of Neu! and Can, ‘El Refugio’ keeps hold of that motorik pulse but trades the debut’s more expansive and hypnotic tendencies for a collection of dark, wiry post-punk vignettes.

Scott co-produced the album with Rob Ellis (best known for his stunning work with PJ Harvey) and Peter Miles.
