Miss Ella Fitzgerald & Mr Gordon Jenkins Invite You to Listen and Relax is a collection of material recorded by Ella Fitzgerald between 1949 and 1954, all tracks were arranged by Gordon Jenkins. All tracks were previously only available on 78rpm singles. The album was compiled and released by Decca in 1955.

Though he was not himself a violinist, Béla Bartók managed to compose two incredible violin concertos, the second of which is considered by some to be the most important violin concerto of the 20th century.

This album, the first in Kodama’s planned Beethoven cycle, begins with the composer’s so-called “easy” sonatas. In the words of the booklet’s annotator, Franz Steiger, they represent “lyrical islands,” being less fervent or affirmative than many of his other works in this genre.

Chloe Chuyue Zhang is a graduate of the Juilliard School where she earned her Masters degree in piano performance studying with Jerome Lowenthal. Prior to attending Juilliard, Chloe received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. Chloe is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Piano Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where she served as a teaching assistant of Natalya Antonova in 2020 and 2021. Born in Shenzhen, China, Chloe was the first prize winner of the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in 2021. Chloe has recently been featured on PBS’ Classical Pianists of the Future series that was broadcast nationally by the WSKG channel. She has also been featured as a soloist alongside several orchestras including the Chautauqua Music Festival Student Orchestra, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.

Monsieur de Sainte-Colombes life is largely shrouded in mystery, and almost nothing was known of his music until these Concerts deux violes esgales were discovered in Geneva in 1966. Full of inspiration and fantasy, these pieces are often technically very demanding, innovatively deploying the viols entire range and putting players to the test in ways that were unprecedented in French viol literature. The sound of the viols is as haunting as the musics titles are teasingly expressive, and for their extraordinary imagination, originality and rare sonic splendour these works are justly considered one of the great monuments of European Baroque music.

Seven original guitar-only tracks recorded in two days completely live, with no overdubs or loop machines. The result is an extremely alive, authentic album, backed by a rich and powerful sound where blues roots and slide guitar once again dominate.
