Erotica is the fifth studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna. It was released on October 20, 1992, by the Maverick and Warner Bros. Records. The album was released simultaneously with Madonna's first book publication, Sex, a coffee table book containing explicit photographs featuring the singer…

When Aaron Neville signed with A&M in the early '90s, optimists were hoping for some five-star soul gems along the lines of his classic '60s recordings. Instead, his first A&M date, Warm Your Heart, found the veteran New Orleans singer taking a much more pop-minded approach, with generally decent results. While Neville didn't abandon soul music, this CD made it clear that A&M was intent on making him a major hit in the pop market (which had been exposed to him in 1989 thanks to his duets with Linda Ronstadt).

World-renowned as one of experimental music's most vital and impressionistic composers of the past few decades, William Basinski’s tape loop works have been especially influential, particularly on the historic series, The Disintegration Loops, where distorted, orchestral tape samples burrow deep into the listener's psyche through meditative repetition. On his new album, A Shadow in Time, Basinski plunges deeper than ever for the plaintive, solitary eulogy to David Bowie, aptly titled For David Robert Jones. Conversely, the title track, A Shadow in Time, is a subtle, celestial escalation of melody and drone. The result is one of the most truly transcendent pieces of music he has ever committed to – or wrung from – tape.

After about a year of preparing their material, in February of 2013 Sebastian Spanache Trio went into the studio to record their first official album 'HUMANIZED'. From the first bars of 'Argentina' you can tell this is not going to be your usual jazz endeavor: the tunes are skillfully crafted, with intricate meters and complex, unexpected forms. The influences borrow from a wide musical palette, with grooves and atmospheres suggestive of ambient or electronic music. 'Seven is Your Friend' starts hot only to regain balance within the unique vitality of improvisations, in-the-moment dialogue and attention to the architecture of musical storytelling. And 'Red' calls to mind an ethereal journey through present-times music that goes beyond what you would typically hear in a 'classic' jazz piano trio.

It is strange that this album was not released until the CD came out in 1990, for tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims and pianist Jimmy Rowles' tribute to Billie Holiday is melodic, tasteful, and largely memorable. Together with bassist George Mraz and drummer Jackie Williams back in 1978, they perform 11 songs associated with Holiday, including quite a few that would have been lost in obscurity if Lady Day had not uplifted them with her recordings. Highlights include "Easy Living," "Some Other Spring," "I Cried for You," "Body and Soul," and "You're My Thrill." A lyrical and heartfelt tribute.

To say that Hiromi Uehara is a hypnotic performer would be an incredible understatement. With her live DVD, Hiromi Solo Live at Blue Note New York, the pianist electrifies, stimulates, intoxicates. She's done the very same to audiences throughout the United States, Asia and Europe, blowing the lid off of what to expect from a performance with her complete and utter surrender to her art. The DVD allows those of us who lack the fortune to see her in person a window to what we're missing. Hiromi rolls through a number of tracks from Place to Be, her critically-acclaimed solo release, and dedicates herself entirely to the discovery and joy of music. Recorded live on August 20 and 21, 2010, Live at the Blue Note New York features 11 songs and a bonus feature that includes an interview and some footage from her performances around the world.

While Black Fuzz, recorded for Kanye West's Sony-distributed boutique label, remains unreleased, Sa-Ra return to Ubiquity, the independent that released the trio's first 12" single, for their first "proper" album. Although it is only a little more focused and unified than 2007's The Hollywood Recordings – none of which was recorded for the purpose of a standard album Nuclear Evolution: The Age of Love benefits from its sprawl, and that's because Sa-Ra don't really do tight, straightforward, and concise. They're polyglot space cadets, filtering their love for synth funk, ambient soul, and Afrocentric avant-garde jazz through left-field hip-hop, from contortions of low-booming G-funk to dazed drum loops as doped-out as anything on Stones Throw…

The debut album by George Thorogood and the Destroyers exploded onto the FM airwaves in 1977, bringing a dose of hard-driving roots reality back to rock radio; his versions of Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love' and John Lee Hooker's 'One Bourbon One Scotch and One Beer' resonated throughout the years.

Drum master Weckl continues to hawk the muscular brand of fusion that he began dealing with Chick Corea’s Elektric Band over a decade ago. This album seems a catharsis for Weckl, having just come off a divorce and other personal problems. He’s in better form drum-wise than we have heard in some time, and the music on this disc is more engaging than his prior efforts. It would be hard to find a better environment for Weckl’s style than this present quartet. Brandon Fields offers the ideal blend of soulful jazz sax tradition and contemporary flair…

In addition there are titles from the entertainment and pop music which are listed with classical instruments. The fantastic rococo costumes of the Veneziano form a magical stage design. For gala, event or concert, RONDO CLASSICO guarantees "the best entertainment on the highest level".

Since the early 2000s, he has also recorded several solo albums featuring pop, funk, and jazz styles. In 2016, he formed a heavy metal side-project, Fleshkiller, with his former Schaliach band-mate, Peter Dalbackk, and drummer Andreas Skorpe Sjøen.

"Ima - Femme" - 9th album in career. Surrounded by a large orchestra with pop sounds, R & B, bossa-nova and jazz, Ima pays tribute to the greatest singers of all time. A unique sound, combined with a warm, sweet voice, Ima takes over the most beautiful songs from Barbara to Dalida to Edith Piaf, from Nina Simone to Carole King and Billie Holiday. An album of atmosphere, certainly, but a repertoire sought and revisited with IMA flavor.

It may be rash to claim that the French pianist Monique Haas (1909-1987) never made a bad recording, but you won't find one among her complete DG sessions. Dating from the late 1940s up to 1965, the recordings have been transferred from scratch, and they sound remarkably well for their respective vintages. The repertoire is diverse and unhackneyed, ranging from Mozart piano duets (with Heinz Schröter) and K. 449 and K. 488 concertos, rare Haydn gems (the E-flat Arietta with Variations and the Fantasia in C major), and the Stravinsky Capriccio, to Hindemith's Concert Music for piano, brass and harps (with the composer conducting), and a substantial sonata by Marcel Mihalovici (the pianist's husband) featuring violinist Max Rostal.

Over the course of nine albums, at a time when the music industry is undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation, Granger Smith has been building a career that is truly groundbreaking. With sold-out national tours, a social media following of more than three million, and YouTube views nearing 30 million, he has amassed an audience that is unheard-of for a purely independent, unsigned act. He has continually searched for new and innovative ways to connect with his fans and —one by one, room by room built a national following, culminating when his last album, Dirt Road Driveway, debuted at Number One on the iTunes country chart.
