Confessions of the Mind is the 1970 released album by The Hollies. It was released in the United States as Moving Finger, with a different track sequence, the tracks "Separated" and "I Wanna Shout" omitted and replaced with the Clarke/Sylvester penned "Marigold: Gloria Swansong" saved from the previous album (Hollies Sing Hollies aka He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - U.S.) and "Gasoline Alley Bred". In Germany, it was released as The Hollies Move On. The UK version peaked at UK #30. The US version peaked at US #183.

Little is known about the composer and Viola da Gambist, but his collection of sonatas from 1653 was the first such collection by an Englishman. Young’s music is highly varied in style and he proves to be an adaptable, versatile composer open to the developments of his times.

Haydn's student Ignace Joseph Pleyel was nearly as prolific as his Austrian parents (he was one of 38 children), and not all of the various attempts to revive his work have found music worth reviving. His music remains mostly unknown, and instrumentalists and ensembles haven't sorted through it to find the gems. This effort by virtuoso German clarinetist Dieter Klöcker, who also wrote the rather abstract but cogent booklet notes, is one of the best contributions yet. The clarinet was a new instrument in Pleyel's time, and was undergoing rapid change.

Though on the surface Bitter Tears is just another installment in the seemingly endless series of Americana albums that Johnny Cash released in the '60s, it was a more daring collection than any of its predecessors or successors. Where Cash's previous Americana albums had previously concentrated on cowboys and Western pioneers, Bitter Tears is all about Native Americans and their trials and tribulations. It isn't a crass move – it's a sensitive, clear-eyed take on the unfair treatment of the American Indian that uses traditional folk ballads and newly written songs in the same vein. It's stark and moving, his best Americana album of the '60s.
