When the band Annwn was founded in the summer of 2006, this was done with the aim of interpreting melodies from long-gone times and foreign cultures in their own new way. For the first time harp and singing should be at the center of the arrangements, supported by an epic foundation of strings, lutes, flutes and percussions, to take into account the beauty and clarity of the old melodies.

Victory Over The Sun is a collaborative album project bringing together Mark Harris and JOHN 3:16. Harris is an artist, musician and programer based in the West Midlands with a strong interest in systems and generative processes in music. JOHN 3:16 is the nom-de-plume of Philadelphia, USA-based Philippe Gerber, former frontman with Heat From A Dead Star. Seamlessly bringing together personal influences ranging from dark ambient, the heavier end of shoegaze and electronic systems music, the five tracks here coalesce into an immersive soundworld that integrates the best of their solo work.

John McSherry further cements his legacy as a true master of the Uilleann pipes with THE SEVEN SUNS. The eagerly anticipated follow up to his 2010 solo debut Soma offers the listener a conceptual musical journey drawing from both traditional Irish jigs and reels as well as from free form jazz improvisation which inform McSherry's unique approach to the pipes. In McSherry's words: "My love for music embraces everything from these most ancient airs, jigs and reels to the harmonies and high powered, driving rhythms of modern music. I'd like to think of this album as a little melting pot of all the influences on my musical journey so far." Guest musicians on the album include Seán Óg Graham (guitars), Michael McGoldrick (flute) and Niamh Dunne (fiddle/viola). John McSherry is one of the finest exponents of the art of the Uilleann piping in the world. A founding member of Irish super-groups Lúnasa and the now legendary Coolfin, he has been called "a true master" by Irish Music Magazine and has taken piping to new heights with his unique style. His sense for improvisation has even been compared to that of the great jazz legend John Coltrane. In addition to his groundbreaking solo release Soma he has also released two duo CDs: At First Light with Irish flute virtuoso Michael McGoldrick (Best Traditional Album of the Year Award from Irish American News) and Tripswitch with multi-instrumentalist Dónal O'Connor.

This album gathers many styles: funk, jazz, prog, caribbean music into a sumptuous spiritual fusion LP.

SHAZAM is the second album by The Move, released in the UK in February 1970. The LP marked a bridge between the band's quirky late '60s pop singles and the progressive, long-form style of Roy Wood's next project, the Electric Light Orchestra. It was the last Move album to feature the group's original lead vocalist, Carl Wayne.

This unusual collection is dedicated to the very popular style: minimal music. Over the years this has evolved from austere, almost strict repetition with tiny movements to a more varied and free approach to material and technique. This set includes works for piano solo by most of the famous minimal composers. Starting with initiator, if you will, Cage, and followed by the first generation entirely devoting itself to this style: Riley and Glass. The next generation is represented by John Adams and Michael Nyman. Dutch pianist Jeroen van Veen is fascinated by minimal music.

Academy, GRAMMY, and Golden Globe winning composer Howard Shore is best known for his rich and densely orchestrated scores for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings films. This disc features a more intimate - and classical - side of Shore's music. The title work, A Palace Upon The Ruins, is a song-cycle, sung here by mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano. The texts were inspired by a story from the past that speaks of the healing of an unresolved trauma. Other works on the program include Six Pieces for chamber orchestra (featuring the Kronos Quartet) and Catania, a work for solo piano played by the superstar pianist Lang Lang.
