Few crooners can claim that name with as much authority as Johnny Mathis. Although his style may seem rather old fashioned to those who grew up on rock & roll, Mathis’s rich, vibrato-heavy voice and interpretative knack made him remarkably popular in the 1950s and ‘60s. This disc, which spreads 10 tracks, features “Chances Are,” “Wonderful! Wonderful!,” “(Where Do I Begin) Love Story,” and a slew of other Mathis classics. Longtime fans are sure to find many of their favorites, and newcomers to Mathis will find this a fine place to start.

The members of Toto celebrate their freedom from "corporate shackles and invisible slave owners" in their liner notes to this collection, copyrighted by Toto Recordings, Inc., even if it was released by CMC Records, which is owned by Capitol Records, which in turn is part of the major label EMI. The group's idea for expressing its newfound liberty is to record an album consisting of cover songs by their favorite artists, an unimpeachable list including the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Cream, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Elton John, Bob Marley, Steely Dan, the Temptations, and Stevie Wonder.

Modern songs performed with a Native American type sound is the best way I can describe it.

This is a collection of mostly re-recordings and live versions. Some of tracks are familiar but there are quite a few less common tracks and that is what makes it interesting to me. I believe there are 20 VA collections in this series.

'The Early Years 1965 1972' is a comprehensive 28-disc box set that sees Pink Floyd delve into their vast music archive to produce a deluxe package that includes 7 individual book-style volumes, featuring much previously unreleased material. There's little argument that Slash is a great guitarist, capable of making rock and blues clichés sound fresh. On his solo project, Slash's Snakepit, he plays a lot and most of his playing is quite amazing. It's too bad that nobody in the band bothered to write any songs.

To mark their 30th anniversary The Wonder Stuff release their eighth studio album, '30 Goes Around The Sun', on March 19th 2016 - thirty years to the day since the band first walked into a rehearsal studio in the heart of The Black Country in 1986. The band chose to revisit it's old stomping ground of Stourbridge to record the album and even managed to persuade renowned heavy metal and hard rock producer, Simon Efemey (Paradise Lost/Napalm Death/The Wildhearts), to return to his home town to produce the record.
