    MP3 CBR 320kbps | Tracks: 11 | 61:24 min | 143 Mb
Style: New Age, Piano | Label: Hen House Records

Contemporary instrumentalist Greg Maroney's solo piano compositions evoke wistful stories and images of the rural American countryside, in particular central Pennsylvania, where he resides with his wife and many animals. Maroney began studying both classical and jazz piano at age five and later, in the early '70s, studied classical Indian music as well. The pianist performs throughout the Pennsylvania area – at local restaraunts, radio stations, weddings, private parties, even the governor's mansion – and has also released a series of albums – Songs of the Water Rose (1997), Copper Hat (2001), Sentinel (2002) – all of which feature original compositions.

    Country | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 231:56 min | 532 MB
    Label: Curb Records | Tracks: 60 | Rls.date: 2016

Originally released as a limited retailer exclusive in 2016, the four-disc McGraw: The Ultimate Collection is the most comprehensive Tim McGraw compilation yet released — a none-too-small accomplishment, considering that just a year before Curb released the double-disc set 35 Biggest Hits. That 2015 compilation remains a little more user-friendly than McGraw, which contains three discs of hits and deep cuts (there is a lot of overlap between this and 35 Biggest Hits), plus a disc of rarities. These are covers, live versions, tracks that showed up on soundtracks, and other stray songs, and it not only provides a nice enticement for the hardcore fans to pick up McGraw, it helps illustrate how there's a lot more to Tim McGraw than what is commonly heard on the radio.

With the sheer glut of recordings of Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons on the market, it takes some special approach to make yet another recording of this chestnut seem interesting and palatable. Because Sigiswald Kuijken and his cohorts, La Petite Bande, understand this enormous problem, they have resorted to two innovative ideas: first, to perform the four concertos in a streamlined chamber version that requires only three violins, viola, cello, and harpsichord; and second, to introduce the antique violoncello da spalla (shoulder cello) in their performances, mostly for the novelty of its reedy tone and for its possible historical usage in these particular pieces. Included on this 2007 release from Accent are also the Cello Concerto in D major, RV 403, and the Trio Sonata in D minor, "La Follia," RV 63, which frame the program neatly and give the listener something extra to consider in choosing this CD over others. –Blair Sanderson

Directed by Japanese-American violin star Shunske Sato, the Brandenburg present the baroque-inspired music of Edvard Grieg, a symphony written by the 12-year old prodigious composer Felix Mendelssohn, and a scintillating performance of Nicolo Paganini’s Violin Concerto No.4 (with Sato as the soloist).

Gebremariam recorded his only LP shortly before leaving war-torn East African nation Eritrea—he made his way to a refugee camp in neighbouring Ethiopia before heading to the US. According to AFTA, "when an agency for asylum-seekers in North Carolina met Gebremariam and researched his background, they saw an Awesome Tapes From Africa blog post of the cassette," leading to the forthcoming reissue. The album, which will be getting its first release on digital and vinyl formats, features traditional folk instruments—the one-string wata and the five-string krar—playing what ATFA's Brian Shimkovitz called "legit modern sounds culled from relatively ancient means."

Fanny Mendelssohn was a German pianist and composer, and the eldest sister and confidante of the composer Felix Mendelssohn however she was never allowed to study music like her brother. Despite this she developed a remarkable talent for piano music especially after her extensive Italian travel which is the source of much inspiration in some of these pieces. Felix readily admitted that his sister played the piano better than he did, and Fanny remained his chief musical adviser until he left home.

While Freemasonry's secrecy has always aroused distrust, its enlightened principles and belief in virtue, liberty, fraternity, and equality have attracted large numbers of intellectuals and artists; one of its most famous adherents was Mozart. However, his opera The Magic Flute was not the first to be inspired by its teachings but was preceded in 1749 by Rameau's Zoroastre. Its initial reception was so cool that Rameau and his librettist, Louis de Cahusac (a prominent Mason) undertook extensive revisions. The new version was produced–by coincidence or fate?–in 1756, the year of Mozart's birth, and became a great success.

Mixture of 60's garage rock, surf, porn funk and manic psychedelia, the instrumental madness of The Mutants is a lost soundtrack for Russ Meyer's, Tarantino's and Aki Kaurismäki's films. Impossible to categorize, we call it "afro-garage-mambo".
The Mutants was founded in 1998 by Weijjo a.k.a Abnormal, who wanted to form an instrumental band after getting tired of difficult singers. Members were picked partly from his previous punk band "Isebel's Pain" and from locations that you don´t want to know. The sound of The Mutants has been pretty weird from the first beginning, only to get seriously sicker since. After the first chaotic gigs with the usual rock instrumentation + organ, it needed to sound bigger…
