The Best of 10cc Live is a 2007 live compilation album by the pop band 10cc. The album was given away free with the British newspaper The Mail on Sunday in June 2007 to promote the band's 2007 June/July UK tour and the recent release of the studio compilation Greatest Hits … And More. Of note is the inclusion of the song "Welcome To Paradise", which was never released as a single and has never appeared on any "best of" or "greatest hits" compilation from the band.

10cc Alive - the third live album from the band, recorded live in Japan in 1993. The album tends to drag a little bit in the middle, but overall this album is quite nice. The sound quality is very good for a live album and the band play with an energy.

    Martial Solal - At Newport '63 (2016)
    jazz, piano, post bop | 49:34 min | MP3, 320 kbps | 113 MB
    Label: Sony Music / RCAVictor

French jazz pianist Martial Solal's American recording debut took place at the 1963 Newport Jazz Festival, with his set recorded and initially released by RCA Victor, though it was deemed too short for release, so a few numbers recorded during his afternoon rehearsal were added to lengthen the album, with applause duplicated from other numbers. Joined by Bill Evans' former rhythm section, bassist Teddy Kotick and drummer Paul Motian (who also made up his trio during an extended gig at New York City's Hickory House prior to Newport), Solal blends Art Tatum-like runs with an inherent lyrical side in a decidedly advanced bop setting. In addition to his enjoyable arrangements of standards and timeless jazz compositions, his extended work "Suite Pour Une Frise" also merits praise.

Pony Poindexter was a sporadically recorded bop saxophonist who played on sessions by Lambert, Hendricks and Ross as well as Wes Montgomery; his long unavailable 1962 debut as a leader, originally on Epic, finally was reissued as a Koch CD in 2001. With arrangements by Gene Kee, Poindexter leads several all-star ensembles, which include Phil Woods, Gene Quill, Sonny Red, Eric Dolphy, Dexter Gordon, Clifford Jordan, Jimmy Heath, Sal Nistico, Billy Mitchell, and Pepper Adams.

    guitar, free jazz, free improvisation | 1:05:55 | MP3, 320 kbps | 151 MB
    Label: Intakt Records

Last summer in Elliott Sharp’s recording studio in Manhattan, New York guitarist Sharp spent a day with guitar colleague Mary Halvorson and another with Marc Ribot, legendary guitarist of Tom Waits, The Lounge Lizards and Marianne Faithful. The result was a series of recordings that could only be created by friends. They represent the great art of guitar playing by three exceptional musicians looking for new sonic adventures in search of the sound of our time. “I hear in their playing both a step into an unknown future and wild growth from a deep past,” says Elliott Sharp. “The contradiction is resolved in improvisation – the transcendent sonic path of the now.”

    Hard Rock | 1:02:17 | MP3, 320 kbps | 142 MB
    Label: UMC / Bludgeon Riffola

Probably Def Leppard's best album, and certainly their most successful, Hysteria pretty much sums up 80s hard rock: catchy, tuneful, and fun. It's also one of the few albums from the period that doesn't sound dated now, and singles like "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Armageddon It", and "Rocket" remain staples of rock radio.

    Electronic, Downtempo, Chillout | 1:01:53 | MP3, 320 kbps | 143 MB
    Label: Music for Dreams

Having bubbled away with Balearic intentions on Mackrory's Forgotten Corner, then last year's rather successful "Elle Dit" on Music For Dreams, Nick and Harry galvanise their spiritual partnership with a full album. Exploring their fusions, palette and complementary styles on a much broader canvas, across the 11 tracks and three remixes we're treated to touching steel drum drama and delicate introspection ("The Other Side", "Aranjuez"), bumpy harmonic bossa ("Lucky Charm"), lilting nylon strings and psychedelic vocals ("Inside You") a stunning cover of "Wichita Lineman" and plenty more. A truly perfect summer album.

Dave Cousins' 1972 solo album was very much like a Strawbs record of the period, albeit one in which his songwriting and vocals dominated even more than they did on other Strawbs releases from the era. The Strawbs connection is enhanced by the presence of soon-to-be Strawb Dave Lambert on guitar and backing vocals, and just-ex-Strawb Rick Wakeman on keyboards. A couple of other moonlighters from star bands (bassist Roger Glover of Deep Purple and drummer Jon Hiseman of Colosseum) are onboard too, as are, on a couple tracks, the wind septet of Robert Kirby, most known for his contributions to Nick Drake recordings.
