This Marcus Roberts solo piano CD features Christmas-related material, all performed in a relaxed manner. Two originals ("Christmas Blues" and "Prayer For Peace") are joined by 11 familiar Yuletide favorites. Roberts rarely wanders far from the melody and his lefthand stride work, although impressive, never really cuts loose. The pleasant recital is overly respectful and thoughtful, and it would have benefited from the inclusion of a few stomps (such as "Jingle Bells").

At mule musiq, we’ve focused on shining light on the many aspects of what electronic music can be, putting out house, techno and ambient releases on our main label, while releasing alternative-leaning dance music through our endless flight imprint. But with the launch of our new label, studio mule, we are stepping away from electronic club music for a bit. The label will not be tied to a specific genre, as we will instead focus on releasing any kind of music that we feel is a little bit different and interesting, but somehow make sense in this day and age. For our first batch of releases, we will be focusing on Japanese music.

There isn’t much Welsh guitar legend Phil Campbell hasn’t done. From three-plus decades as Motörhead’s axeman to being voted number 20 in the pole of top 100 Welsh Heroes (comfortably beating JPR Williams, Roald Dahl and Sir Anthony Hopkins) to covering a Norweigian promoter in squirty cheese, Pontypridd-born Campbell continues to live life to the fullest with guitar in hand and humour intact.

Aber einmal gefunden, erwies sich die Vorgabe, über das eigene Leben zu schreiben, als äußert produktiv. Wobei das Album keinesfalls eine individualistische Nabelschau geworden ist. Denn es erzählt von allgemein gültigen, wenn nicht existenziellen Erfahrungen: von Angst, Verliebtsein, Einsamkeit und Tod. Mit dieser neuen Art von Songwriting geht eine andere Sprache einher. Eine Sprache, die keine Verklausulierungen duldet. Die Unendlichkeit ist daher auch ein Neubeginn.

Steve Weingart is one of today's hottest keyboardists. His fluent style is amazing. His compositions are really good. In fact many of the compositions on Dave Weckl's CDs from Transitions to Multiplicity have Steve's signature writing style. This CD, Life Times, is just a wonderful blend of groove tunes. His wife also sings a bit on the songs. She's a great musician as well.

The great thing about this early live record is its obscurity – not just that this isn't one of his better-known records, but that the set list is a fanboy's dream, heavy on album tracks, covers, and the kinds of song that make Elton John's early work so individual…

Donovan's last truly great album of the 1960s, 1968's BARABAJAGAL shows interesting artistic growth at least as marked as his transformation from folk troubadour to daffy hippie-pop guru. The title track and "Trudi" feature the Rod Stewart-era Jeff Beck Group as Donovan's backing band; consequently both these songs have a surprising amount of sonic heft to them…

Mercury Rising is a 1998 thriller directed by Harold Becker and starring Bruce Willis, Alex Baldwin and Mike Hughes. The government creates an unbreakable super code, they think. As a totally irresponsible and implausible decision some idiot in the government publishes the code in a magazine as a test. They never though the code could be broken, but a 9 year old boy with autism somehow breaks the code. Some people in the government then sees the boy as a threat to national security and wants to eliminate him. FBI Agent Art Jeffries, played by Bruce Willis, takes on the task of protecting the boy. This was quite a decent movie I thought, even though I felt the whole premise was very unrealistic. The government people are so incredibly stupid and even a boy with autism can’t break an unbreakable code. Besides that, there’s some fun to be had and this was while Bruce Willis still had a name worth checking out. The score is composed by John Barry.

Bring It On is the debut album by English band Gomez. Gomez entered the recording studios in late 1997 to turn their demos into an album. During this time they also toured the UK with Embrace. The first single, "78 Stone Wobble" was released in March 1998 with the album following a month later. Bring It On was well received on both sides of the Atlantic with Spin calling it a "damn beautiful album" and Allmusic's Greg Prato comparing "78 Stone Wobble" to Nirvana's unplugged version of Meat Puppets' "Plateau". The album experienced a further boost in popularity when it won the 1998 Mercury Music Prize for best album, beating the favourites Massive Attack's Mezzanine and The Verve's Urban Hymns. "Get Myself Arrested" and "Whippin' Piccadilly" were later released as singles. While Gomez toured the US as the support artist for Eagle Eye Cherry, Bring It On is the only Gomez album so far not to make the US charts although the album did make the Australian album charts. "Bring It On" is also the name of a song on Gomez's following album, Liquid Skin.

We are a folk/pop band from Aarhus / Denmark, but really we are an odd mix of people from the north - a Northern Assembly.

Always Ascending is the upcoming fifth studio album by Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand. It will be released on 9 February 2018 through the Domino Recording Company. It is the band's first non-collaborative album in over four years, following Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013). It is also their first album to feature new member Julian Corrie, who joined shortly after the departure of Nick McCarthy.
