    Dmitri Kitayenko has been Music Advisor of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra since the 2011/12 season. And if there is something with which Maestro Kitayenko has a special affinity, it is the Russian repertoire. It was not surprising, therefore, that he decided on Stravinsky for the first recording of this cooperation between the Orchestra and the Oehms Classics label. This recording includes Stravinskys very first work, the Symphony in E-flat major, as well as the rarely performed Suites 1 &2 orchestrated by Stravinsky during the years 1921 and 1925. These works for chamber orchestra, however, were originally composed from 1914 to 1920 during the composers years of exile in Switzerland. The Zagreb Philharmonic is an orchestra boasting a 147-year-old tradition of distinguished performing in Zagreb and Croatia. It has been a promoter of the art of music across Croatia as well as the countrys cultural ambassacdor in the world.

    Despite the big company and the well known producer(Tony Platt) the band doesnt deliver in general and i believe that the problem is the strange singer and lack of big songs! On the other hand the musicianship is excellent and their approach pretty good and I can find one beautiful song "Home Again (Lovers on the Telephone Line)".

    A good Brit AOR album that is well worth picking up for fans of lightweight pure AOR. Great sound, and some really strong songs on here. Say is a good comparison, but for me the overall sound is similar to that of Blue Blud, Atlantic etc, in that Brit band with a slightly American sound to it. "Wasted Emotion" is by far their classiest song, and is ultra-catchy. The rest is not that far off, and well worth the low price this is fetching.
