Awesome third album from the Israeli group, recorded in three different studios around the world – Berlin / London and Tel Aviv. The album blends neo-soul, modern rnb, electronic beats, eastern sounds and psychedelic touches. Fans of Hiatus Kaiyote and Little Dragon should check this. Buttering Trio’s anticipated third album aptly titled “Threesome” arrived recently through the excellent Raw Tapes label. Influenced, as always, by worldwide rhythms and ideas, you’ll hear a multitude of sounds ranging from Indian ragas, tribal music, archetypical melodies infused with complex beat-making, organic songwriting, and warm vocals. “Our third and new album is the reflection of the sobering evolvement of ourselves. We approached the making of the album with clarity and intention, working on a regular basis with a very specific vision, a vision of an album that ultimately combines the beauty of studio-beat-making and organic song writing."

While Arthur Alexander made a name for himself as a songwriter and vocalist in the early '60s, he was best known for the hits other folks had enjoyed with his songs (among them the Beatles and the Rolling Stones), while his performing career hit an unfortunate slump by the end of the decade. Alexander been out of the public eye for a few years when he scored a deal with Warner Brothers and cut a self-titled album in 1972. Alexander had great faith in the project, which was produced by Tommy Cogbill and featured the cream of the Muscle Shoals studio players, along with songwriting contributions from Dan Penn, Donnie Fritts, and Alexander himself.

Early in his solo career, Sting defined himself as a man of taste, choosing to work with jazz musicians instead of rockers. Inevitably, this meant he walked the thin line between sophisticated pop and adult contemporary, but he did it with grace from 1985's Dream of the Blue Turtles to 1993's Ten Summoner's Tales. Unfortunately, Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting doesn't illustrate what a deft trick he pulled off with that quartet of albums…

A Wrinkle in Time (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 2018 film of the same name. The soundtrack features seven original songs written for the film, as well as the film score by Ramin Djawadi. Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack digitally and on streaming services on March 9, 2018 and physically on CD on March 30.

John Dunstaple was one of the most celebrated composers of the medieval period. Tantalisingly little is known about him, and what little is known is tantalising. He served in the courts of the family of Henry V and two pieces here were performed in Canterbury Cathedral to celebrate Henry V's victory at Agincourt. The booklet includes illustrations from the only known surviving Dunstaple autograph manuscript, an astronomical treatise in Emmanuel College library. Basie on the Beatles is an album by pianist and bandleader Count Basie featuring performances recorded in late 1969 and released on the short-lived Happy Tiger label. It was Basie's second album of Beatles' compositions following 1966's Basie's Beatle Bag and featured liner notes by Ringo Starr.

A generally relaxed date (only "Cherokee" is uptempo), Tal Farlow's pretty tone and tasteful improvising style are the main reasons to search for this disc. Pianist Gerry Wiggins, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Chico Hamilton offer quiet and swinging support of the great guitarist, who performs two originals ("And She Remembers Me" and "Tal's Blues"), plus six superior standards. All of Farlow's Verve releases of the '50s are recommended.

Though he recorded the album's prominent percussion tracks in Brazil, Paul Simon fashioned The Rhythm of the Saints as a deliberate follow-up to the artistic breakthrough and commercial comeback that was the South Africa-tinged Graceland. Several of the musicians who had appeared previously were back, along with some of the New York session players who had worked with Simon in the 1970s, and the overall sound was familiar to fans of Graceland…
