Gabriel Urbain Fauré ( 12 May 1845 – 4 November 1924) was a French composer, organist, pianist and teacher. He was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, and his musical style influenced many 20th-century composers. Among his best-known works are his Pavane, Requiem, nocturnes for piano and the songs "Après un rêve" and "Clair de lune".

Recording Handel's operas can be tricky. Overly immaculate studio readings tend to rob the long chains of recitatives and arias of the immediacy they need to stay interesting; and live recordings tend to be messy, not to mention noisy. This Agrippina, by Jean-Claude Malgoire and La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy, and starring Veronique Gens as the titular anti-heroine, certainly suffers from some "live-itis:" the orchestra isn't always sharp, orchestra and singers are occasionally out of phase, and there is plenty of audience and stage noise.

Claudine Longet's long suit was really her album's covers, which made their purchase almost irresistable (at least, to men) once they were displayed in record stores. That said, this collection of her combined output for Barnaby Records (the label founded and owned by her then husband, Andy Williams) isn't bad the two albums We've Only Just Begun and Let's Spend the Night Together have been combined in these 24 tracks, all remastered in state of the art sound…

This amazing set compiles all existing Birdland broadcasts by the Charles Mingus Jazz Workshop of 1961-62. These long unavailable broadcasts feature such important musicians as Booker Ervin, Yusef Lateef, Jimmy Knepper, Pepper Adams, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Charles McPherson, Jaki Byard, Toshiko Akiyoshi andDannie Richmond. Among the many highlights is the drumless broadcast of May 12, 1962, which presents two bassists on Mingus’ only existing live version of “Ysabel’s Table Dance”, from Tijuana Moods. Mingus is the piano soloist on two broadcasts. This music has only been previously available on separate long out of print releases with inferior sound quality.

With this album "Cosmoromantics" Moonbooter continues his well-known Cosmo-serial. Following the last two releases Zeitenwende and Still Alive the electronic musician from the Eifel applies himself to cosmic themes for the fourth time. With Cosmoromantics he has his sight especially on the history of the Russian cosmonautics. In more than 70 minutes moonbooter abducts the audience into his own soundscapes and as usual puts well incorporated rhythmic spots in place. Overall natural sounds appear fewer, electronic sounds dominate the event. One romantic note runs like a common thread through the complete concept album. Thereby Cosmoromantics is kept together by classical and also modern sequences. Moonbooter masters this symbiosis more than almost anybody else. Again, Cosmoromantics sounds fantastic, great and wide. Wellness for your ears…
