Dayna is a wonderful writer and has been behind the scene for quite some time(has worked with my friend Lisa Simmons :). Every now and then she pops up and puts out a single. Great voice! I'm glad she finally has put together her own album and showcasing the gifts that God has given. Looking to hear more from her.

In a musical first for the band, they wrote, arranged and recorded music with specific collaborators in mind. They held sessions with two of their heroes; a congregation with two musical and spiritual father figures from opposite ends of The Apples rich spectrum: Fred Wesley - Pioneer of funk trombone in particular and funk horn arranging in general with James Brown, The JBs, Parliament-Funkadelic and The Horny Horns. SHLOMO BAR - Vocalist, Percussionist, Godfather of Israeli world music. Figurehead of the highly influential ethno-fusion ensemble HaBrera HaTeevit. The exciting process of these recordings exposed the band's many roots and influences; elements of The JB's funky foundations, African, Cut & Paste, Soul, Middle Eastern, and Dub are all clearly displayed on KINGS, strained through the band's unique Decks-Horns-Soundboard Effects-Double Bass-Drums lineup.

Released in 1975, SMOKED SUGAR features the production guidance of Hadley Murrell who became well known for his production and promotion of local acts within the Phoenix Soul scene of the 60s (The Servicemen and Freddie, Henchi & The Soulsetters) as well as drawing upon the technical expertise of world renowned engineer Angel Balestier, (Solomon Burke, David Ruffin, Caston & Majors, Eddie Kendricks etc).

Uzi Feinerman (Boom Pam) - Guitar & Vocals, Sefi Zisling (Funk'n'stein) – Trumpet, and Eitan Efrat – Drums are "The Ramirez Brothers", a power trio that has gained many fans in the past few years. The Ramirez Brothers' shows have earned a cult following in their native Tel Aviv town. The Ramirez musical journey fuses a groovy mixture with influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix' blues, through Funk and Rockabilly to Americana, which creates an old/new unique sound.

The Dutch performer Bob van Asperen is a recognized specialist in the realm of performance on period keyboard instruments. Born and raised in Amsterdam, Asperen completed a conventional university course of study in music before embarking on lessons with harpsichord master Gustav Leonhardt starting in 1967; Asperen made his debut in Haarlem in 1968. Also in 1968 Asperen joined the group Quadro Hotteterre, of which he was a member until 1984. Asperen completed his studies in 1972 after finishing a course in organ at the Amsterdam Conservatory given by Albert de Klerk. Afterward he accepted a teaching post at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, which he held until tapped to replace the departing Gustav Leonhardt at the Sweelinck Conservatory, prompting Asperen's return to Amsterdam. His teaching duties in the Netherlands have not restrained him from touring internationally; Asperen has given master classes elsewhere in Europe and also Canada, the United States, and Australia.

A New Day Yesterday Live is a bonus DVD that was included with Joe Bonamassa's So, It's Like That CD. Bonamassa is another one of those blues prodigies, along the lines of Johnny Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard, who started playing guitar when he was only four years old, after hearing Stevie Ray Vaughan, and was playing many of Stevie's songs note-for-note by the time he was six.

Canned Heat were one of the hardest living and hardest working bands of the late sixties and through the seventies. Led by the inimitable Bob “The Bear” Hite, a huge man with a personality to match, they established themselves as one of the greatest white blues bands of all time. For the first time this DVD tells the full unexpurgated story from the surviving band members.
