With the release of Ambition Rocks, their first album in 25 years, and with a new lineup, AOR and classic rock band Da Vinci returns with brand new songs. The group was formed in Norway back in 1986, and after a short round with demos, the band got a record deal with Polygram Norway and released their debut album the following year. Looking back on the Norwegian melodic rock of the 80's, one of the bands to leave a major impression were undoubtedly Oslo's Da Vinci. "Ultrasound" is the result of two individuals with a huge appetite for scandinavian progressive music. Jostein Haugen and Marius Leirånes began to work on the album in late may 2015, and one year later they began the recording of "Ultrasound". During the process the band reached out to Mattias Olsson (Necromonkey, ex Änglagård), and he joined mainly as their producer. He was also in charge of drums, overdubs and mixing. Johan Hals Jørgensen (organist) was later recruited as the bands new keyboard maestro. Jostein Haugen and Marius Leirånes goes way back and have played together in various projects since early 2008. "Sehr Kosmisch Ganz Progisch" by Weserbergland is an homage to the seventies krautrock scene seen through the eyes of Ketil Vestrum Einarsen. Ketil is a veteran flutist of the Norwegian Progrock scene, having been a part of White Willow for almost 20 years. He has also been a member of Jaga Jazzist and played on more than fifty albums, with bands like Motorpsycho and Geir Lysnes Listening Ensemble. As a composer, he has written music for 10 documentaries and one TV series (all of this together with Lars Fredrik Frøislie (Wobbler, White Willow etc) "Sehr Kosmisch Ganz Progisch" is Ketil debut as a band leader. He has been a kraut rock enthusiast since he discovered the music through the record collection of his friend´s hippie father in the early 90s, so to take this musical turn was a very natural thing him…

Keyboardist-arranger-composer PeteLevin’s 9th solo release, Mobius, was recorded live in the studio in two days, capturing the“no boundaries” spirit of Gil Evans. The music explores textural grooves ranging from straight-ahead bop to funk, world-beat, and the experimental. The disc features 10 tracks including 8 originals, “I Mean You” by Thelonious Monk & Coleman Hawkins and “There Comes A Time” by Tony Williams. Anchored by Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel’s original bassist) and Lenny White (Chick Corea’s original drummer) the high-energy band and the compositions have the spontaneity and dynamics of a live performance. In a diverse music career spanning several decades, Levin has performed and recorded with numerous jazz and pop artists, including Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, David Sanborn, Jaco Pastorius, Robbie Robertson and John Scofield.

De Vito is recognized by audiences and critics alike as one of the greatest artists of her time and was considered Europe’s foremost woman violinist.
This set includes two versions of her acclaimed renditions of Brahms’ Violin Concerto.
