Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered collection of 1967 studio recordings by the legendary British Psychedelic band DANTALIAN'S CHARIOT - "Chariot Rising". Dantalian's Chariot was born of a time when British popular music was going through a transformation. Psychedelia was on the ascendant thanks to the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" album and the work of Pink Floyd on "Piper at the Gates of Dawn". The influence of the Summer of Love was felt by the members of Zoot Money and his Big Roll Band, a legendary R&B group who had recorded two albums for EMI and were a popular live attraction in the mid-1960s.

Judas Priest was one of the most influential heavy metal bands of the '70s, spearheading the New Wave of British Heavy Metal late in the decade. Decked out in leather and chains, the band fused the gothic doom of Black Sabbath with the riffs and speed of Led Zeppelin, as well as adding a vicious two-lead guitar attack; in doing so, they set the pace for much popular heavy metal from 1975 until 1985, as well as laying the groundwork for the speed and death metal of the '80s. "Royal Rappin's" certainly looks great on paper it's the pairing of two of music's most loquacious and sexually geared acts, Millie Jackson and Isaac Hayes but despite all its potential, the album doesn't impress quite like it could have. A few years earlier, Hayes recorded a live double album with Dionne Warwick and the sparks were more than genuine. With Jackson and the declining Muscle Shoals sound though, it seems more like a terrible blind date that can't end soon enough. Part of the problem is that Hayes doesn't have any production duties and is basically dropped into a Millie Jackson album. There are a few good moments, however.

This is one of the best opera recordings, period! I think Sita has got to be the most vocally demanding role in French opera, hands down. I don't know if there's another soprano who would have pleased me more – maybe Sills (or Caballé if she had the high notes). Another thing, this opera needs a dramatic sound and dramatic acting in general. Sutherland is absolutely superb in this aspect. She really understood Sita. I just love this opera. I can't stop listening to it. Thank you, Massenet! And the guy that plays the Roi de Lahore is a superb dramatic tenor. I'm surprised he isn't more famous than he is.

Having surpassed the ‘Platinum Anniversary’ (72 years) as an entertainer and recording artist Mary Schneider has a brand-new album project about to be released. Yodelling the Big Bands – a yodelling celebration of the big band era with a dazzling selection of standards arranged and performed by the incomparable Mary Schneider. Mary’s showbiz career started in the post war years when she and Rita performed as The Schneider Sisters. They toured the country and performed many times on TV from its inception in Australia.

Willie Bradley is a native of Orangeburg, SC and a graduate of South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC where he earned his BS Degree in Music Education and Performance. Over the course of his career he has become a go –to musician for many of soul music’s greats over the years. Willie’s stage presence includes performances with jazz greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Frank Foster, Max Roach, Betty Carter, Gerald Albright, Walter Beasley, Alex Bugnon, Ronnie Laws, and Marion Meadows. In 2014, Willie released his debut Contemporary Jazz CD “Another Day & Time” produced and co-written by keyboardist/Recording Artist Nicholas Cole. Tracks from this CD made the Smooth Jazz Billboard Charts and have been added to Smooth Jazz Radio Stations worldwide to include Music Choice, Pandora, Spotify, and iHeart Radio.

A singer, songwriter, and actress, Jan Daley had starred in musicals, made numerous television appearances, and toured as a featured vocalist with Bob Hope before launching her own recording career. Carrying a buttery, resonant vocal tone, she specializes in versions of the Great American Songbook as well as writing and recording original songs that have landed her on the jazz charts. A native of Inglewood, California, Daley took piano and singing lessons and began performing in musicals as a child. As a young adult in the '60s, she was crowned Miss California. The exposure led to starring roles in stage musicals like Oklahoma, Anything Goes, and Carousel, and guest spots on late-night and TV variety shows, including The Joey Bishop Show and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She opened on tour for several legendary comedians, among them George Burns, Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, and Bob Hope. Daley went on to accompany Hope on tour, performing to audiences around the world, including U.S. troops in Vietnam, with the Bob Hope Christmas Tour. In 1970, her recording of Riz Ortolani and Arthur Hamilton’s "Til Love Touches Your Life" from the film Madron was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song.

Klaus Schulze, one of the most illustrious exponents of the kraut-electronic musical current, was born on the 4th of August 1947, right in Berlin, the heart of the entire action. He has also used the alias Richard Wahnfried. He was briefly a member of the electronic band Tangerine Dream as well as cofounding Ash Ra Tempel before a pioneering and prolific solo career of 40+ albums (totalling 110+ CDs) in 30+ years…
