Four years of hard work went into this project: Jimmy Reiter’s second album and the successor to his award-winning debut. "Told You So" features the current band on all tracks. This quartet is augmented by long-time friends and musical colleagues Kai Strauss (guitar) and Boston saxophone virtuoso Sax Gordon. Of the twelve tracks on this disc, nine are original compositions written or co-written by Jimmy. “Told You So” is musically varied, yet all stays within the Blues genre … sometimes more firmly anchored in the world of Chicago Blues. Excellent modern blues from a real expert and a great band that you will want to check out.

The working relationship between the legendary keyboard player Keith Emerson and singer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Berry started in 1987. Iconic manager Brian Lane (Yes, Asia, A-Ha, It Bites etc.) and Carl Palmer arranged a meeting between the two prolific musicians. The plan was to form a more melodic, song oriented band (compared to EL&P), which would allow Emerson, Berry and Palmer to follow in the footsteps of the success that Asia and GTR were enjoying in that period. In this year of 2018 the band debuts with their first professionally produced album titled “Deepest Night, Brightest Light”. It is a hymn to all human needs, a discovery of the true self, an elimination of the ego, a journey to the core, but also at times a jump in to the plains of the bright blue sky and a dance of energy. The title says it all – this compilation contains 12 selections from Davis' classic Columbia recordings, all with a hazy, laid-back feel, perfect mood music for when you're feeling a little blue. There are plenty of classic performances here, from both of his classics quintets, plus his lovely interpretation of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time." A pleasant sample of Miles Davis ballads spanning nearly 30 years and all manner of combo sizes. It's hard to criticize these excellent-sounding samples of Miles at his mellow best, even if these pieces are best heard in their original contexts. Makes for smooth listening or as an accompaniment to relaxing or romantic moments.
