The Far Field refines and builds on the breakthroughs of the Baltimore-based trio’s 2014 album Singles, bursting with undeniable hooks and disarmingly honest lyrics written by Samuel T. Herring (vocals, lyrics), William Cashion (bass, guitars) and Gerrit Whelmers (keyboards, programming). After the success of Singles and the hundreds of Future Islands shows played in that period, the band began writing new material on the coast of North Carolina, and continued throughout the year in Baltimore before road-testing these songs at a series of secret shows under fake names. Later that year, they traveled to Los Angeles to record with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton at the legendary Sunset Sound, where everyone from The Beach Boys to Prince have laid down masterpieces.

He made some of the most captivating songs the world has ever known - expressive music that is virtually unrivaled for its pure joy. If you've never heard him, you don't know as much as you think you do. This best-of collection gathers a variety of the great R&B recordings he made for different labels such as Atlantic, Mercury, Federal and Ebb Records between 1949 and 1957. These recordings also feature a virtual who's who of fabulous musicians from the Crescent City scene, including Earl Palmer, Lee Allen, Alvin “Red” Tyler, Justin Adams and Charles “Hungry” Williams, among others.

This recording of organ music performed by Gayle h. Martin highlights the organ music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude. The repertoire exposes the two composers' shared musical influences and unique compositional style. Because the two composers spent the majority of their lives playing, directing, and composing church music, organ composition and performance were at the heart of both of their careers. The Praeludia (also called toccatas) of Buxtehude and the preludes and fugues of Bach belong to instrumental genres not based on a tune with text.

The country solo album debut from Joey Feek, one half of GRAMMY®-winning country music duo Joey+Rory, will finally be widely available. If Not For You will be released on April 7, 2017, through Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings, including a special edition that features a 48-page booklet of photos, memories and stories penned by Joey, her family and husband, Rory. Recorded in 2005 and produced by her husband, Rory Feek, and Bill McDermott, the 12-song collection features her original rendition of “That's Important to Me,” which would later be a charting single by Joey+Rory. Though recorded years before the duo would achieve widespread success, the songs and their lyrics speak volumes about the woman whose life touched the hearts of millions.

Doug Supernaw was a singer/songwriter from Houston, TX, influenced mainly by Gene Watson, Keith Whitley, and George Jones. He briefly attended college on a golf scholarship but soon gave in favor of swinging on-stage in clubs throughout Texas. His freewheeling style incorporated as much of Willie Nelson's solemnity as it did Jimmy Buffet's energy, and fans loved it. Supernaw arrived in Nashville in the mid-'80s and soon secured work writing songs for a publishing house. But it was a bad situation, and soon Supernaw was back on-stage in Texas, perfecting his take on new traditionalist country.

Nicola Ghiuselev had the rich, full timbre and seemingly effortless low notes that characterize the classic Slavic bass voice. It also had a strong enough top that he could perform bass-baritone roles such as the four villains in Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann, and even Mozart's Don Giovanni. He first studied both painting and music at the State Conservatory in Sofia, but after deciding he had better career prospects as a singer, he concentrated on that. He made his opera debut at the Bulgarian National Opera in 1960 as Timur in Puccini's Turandot, and soon rose to starring roles with that company. In 1965, he made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Ramfis in Verdi's Aida during a company tour, followed two years later by his Covent Garden debut as Pagano in Verdi's I Lombardi.

There could be the dramatic skeleton of an opera lurking beneath the cantata veneer of The Spectre’s Bride, Dvořák’s choral work which was commissioned for the 1885 Birmingham festival but first tried out in the Bohemian city of Pilsen a few months earlier. Based on a poem by Karel Jaromír Erben, about a young girl who is abducted by a ghost she believes to be the spirit of her lover, it was first called The Bride’s Chemise - but that was altered to the title by which it’s known today so as not to upset Victorian sensibilities.

On November 10, 2011, Nobuyuki Tsujii, the blind pianist from Japan who was the winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Gold Medal in 2009 appeared on the stage of Carnegie Hall. His dream had come true. Arguably the most important event in the career of any performer, for "Nobu" it was a miracle. With his brilliant technique and beautiful tone, he contrasts familiar warhorses with newer pieces, including one of his own compositions, written in memory of the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
