    Beijing Underground is the debut-album by the Anton Mangold Quartett. The band is based in Germany and the CD-release is under the Classic/Crossover/Jazz Label Dr. Heart Music. A vast musical spectrum is embraced by the young musicians: From hard-swinging straight-ahead Jazz, like the title track Beijing Underground, to explorations of various kinds of folk music, like the hauntingly beautiful Going West, to Heavenly Peace, which is a soulful ballad with vibrant harmonies. In Behai Park West the band takes off on a smoothly grooving theme featuring Zhihan Xu on guitar, while being supported with vocals - sung gracefully by the bands bass-player. In Frustration the band creates stunning structures build out of emotions and sincere improvisation.

    When the first Rockabilly revival hit the UK and Europe in the early-mid 1970s, a clutch of singles by a then-unknown singer by the name of Andy Starr formed part of the first wave of highly prized 45rpm rarities. It soon became apparent that further 45s bearing the name of Frankie or Frank Starr were the work of the same man. Despite never having a US hit or a UK release, Franklin Delano Gulledge was quickly elevated to Rockabilly's upper pantheon based on a handful of magical singles. More than 40 years later, those records are still highly prized and regularly danced to in rock 'n' roll clubs all over the world.

    There are plenty of reasons why Leigh (Little Queenie) Harris is beloved in New Orleans, but here’s why she’s beloved by me: Back in 1999, I happened into Levon Helm’s short-lived Decatur Street club, where she was doing happy hour. With just piano accompaniment, she launched into a version of the Lambert, Hendricks & Ross standard “Cloudburst” that was astounding—it’s a tough song to master in the best of times, and she made each of its rapid-fire syllables ring with joy and sensuality. From there it was a short jump to the more mysterious, gospel-infused material on House of Secrets, the album she was promoting at the time. Overall it was as fine a vocal performance as I’d seen in years, and there were maybe 20 people in the room.

    The full details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Replicas have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jose “Pepe” Ojeda and Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Eye in the Sky, Pitch Perfect, Rendition). Also included is the song I Will Live Forever performed by Rick Garcia & Liela Avila. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 11 by Varese Sarabande and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Replicas is directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and stars Keanu Reeves, Alice Eve, Thomas Middleditch and John Ortiz. The movie follows a scientist who becomes obsessed with bringing back his family members who died in a traffic accident. The thriller is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Entertainment Studios.

    Alizée Jacotey (born 21 August 1984), known professionally as Alizée, is a French singer, dancer and voice actress. She was born and raised in Ajaccio, Corsica.     First, I'd like to thank you for stopping here at CD Baby. It is always a thrill and an honor when I hear that someone enjoys one of my songs. In 2013, I released my first album These Moments. About 6 months earlier, I has just finished the song Vacation Day and was so happy with the result that I was inspired to create and record several more songs (some had already been written several years previous to then) and put them together in an album format. In 2016, I released my second album Inspiration Desperation. I wanted to make this a concept album just like so many of my progressive rock hero’s had done before. Plus I think that in this digital age, the whole idea of a music album is fading away.

    The Bluesmen met at a Blues Society jam in Denton, TX around 2007. Casey James was working with the premier Stevie Ray Vaughn cover band in Dallas, and Billy Langley was playing in a local bar band, teaching guitar lessons and finishing his music degree at the University of North Texas. Both knew that the blues was their passion, and a genuine musical friendship was born. The Bluesmen have played on the streets of Denton, Dallas, Carbondale, Helena, Clarksdale, Nashville, Memphis, and all points in between. They learned to play the blues in the way of the old masters that taught them, and hope to honor their predecessors through their own music. Casey’s 12-string guitar and Billy’s harmonica are a black cat bone, and a mojo too! In 2018, The Bluesmen won the Simply Texas Blues Festival competition in the solo/duo category and a spot in the International Blues Competition in Memphis. The Bluesmen would like to thank the gypsy woman, mojo hands, and John the Conqueror root for making it all possible!
