Deal Casino is a New Jersey-based alternative pop/rock quartet who play a mix of upbeat, danceable tunes along with slower, more reflective numbers. Known for their highly energetic live shows, the duo attempt to keep their recordings as raw and fervent as their concerts. The group's lineup consists of guitarist/vocalist Joe Parella, guitarist Jozii Cowell, bassist Jon Rodney, and drummer Christopher Donofrio. Both Parella and Donofrio had played with Nicole Atkins, and expressed interest in playing in a band together. Deal Casino formed in Sparta, New Jersey in 2013. Their name was inspired by the well-known Deal Casino Beach Club. After self-releasing two EPs in 2013 (Cocaine Love and The Runaways), the band moved to Asbury Park, New Jersey in 2014. They quickly emerged as a prominent fixture on the local music scene, playing dozens of shows at venues such as The Saint and The Stone Pony, and eventually winning several awards at the annual Asbury Park Music Awards. The group's third EP, Heck, appeared at the end of 2014, followed soon after by the Nika EP. In 2016, Deal Casino released the EP Human Cannonball and their self-titled debut full-length arrived in July.

Die musikalische Großfamilie Kelly wurde in den Neunzigern als Folk-Pop-Gruppe mit alternativem Lebensstil bekannt. Der amerikanische Familienpatriarch Dan Kelly (1930-2002) zog mit seiner Familie nach Spanien, seine Kinder musizierten ab 1974 als Kelly Kids auf der Straße. Später tourte Dan zusammen mit seiner zweiten Frau Barbara und den Kindern im Bus durch Europa. Ein erster Plattenvertrag kam 1979, ein Jahr später hatte die Kelly Family mit dem Song "Who'll Come with Me (David's Song)" einen Nummer-1-Hit in Belgien und den Niederlanden. In den Neunzigern erlebte die Gruppe mit dem Song "An Angel" und dem Album Over the Hump ihren Durchbruch, in den 2000ern konzentrierten sich viele der längst erwachsenen Kinder auf ihre Solokarrieren. 2017 gab es mit dem Album We Got Love ein Comeback.

A meditative and spiritual-minded neo-alternative art-rock project that originated as a collective affiliated with Trinity Grace Church in New York City, Young Oceans is the brainchild of songwriter and worship leader Eric Marshall. Before the 17th century, traditional Japanese classical music was mostly sung or performed solo, in particular after the arrival of the biwa, the shakuhachi, and the koto (in versions quite different from the modern ones we know today) from China around the eighth century. The biwa accompanied singers while the two others were played solo. In the 17th century the shamisen also arrived in Japan from China and quickly became popular, taking from the biwa a place it had occupied for a long time. Chamber music in which the shakuhachi and koto joined the shamisen, with the shamisen player singing, was created at that time. Solo pieces were arranged for this trio…

Recent but classic jazz-bossa is played by one of its defining spirits. Vocally, Gilberto is in fine muttering form, communicating intensely with somebody in his breast pocket, and his guitar is as delicate as ever. This recording expresses the close links of bossa nova and jazz. Joao has Clare Fisher arranging and on some cuts playing keyboards, along with one of those saccharin string-sections even the most avant-garde Brazilians love.

Since 1991, a complete edition of all recordings in which Karlheinz Stockhausen has personally participated is being released on compact discs. Each CD in this series is identified by Stockhausen's signature followed by an encircled number. The numbers indicate the general historical order of the works. Stockhausen realised the electronic music and participated in these recordings as conductor, performer, sound projectionist, and musical director. He personally mixed down the recordings, mastered them for CDs, wrote the texts and drew the covers.

Big Daddy Magazine presents The People's Champion Volume 2: The Back Breaker is a 2001 compilation CD released in the UK from Big Daddy magazine. The magazine catered to deep soul, funk, and music of that ilk and some of these songs are exclusive to this comp, which came free with the 9th issue of the magazine.

While Rickey Woodard is not a household name, he and his music should be. The Tokyo Express teams him up with some of the best musicians in the business. A number of classics and standards join with two Woodard originals to create a fine recording. It is an official live recording released on Candid Records.
