Night Songs is the debut studio album by American rock band Cinderella. It was released in 1986 through Mercury Records in America and Vertigo Records in Europe. Night Songs sold several million copies due to a combination of Cinderella's breakthrough single "Nobody's Fool", MTV airplay, and an opening slot on labelmates Bon Jovi's tour, in support of their album Slippery When Wet. The album peaked at #3 on the US charts on February 7, 1987, and was certified double platinum for shipping 2 million copies there twelve days later. In May 1991, it was certified triple platinum, having shipped 3 million copies. On the VH1 program That Metal Show, Night Songs was rated #5 on the show's "top five worst album covers on great albums" list.

Anneli Dreckerґs ethereal voice first became known through the music of her band, Bel Canto, back in the late 80s. Only 17, Anneli left her Arctic hometown of Tromsш with band members Geir Jenssen (aka Biosphere) and Nils Johansen, for the pulsating indie scene in Bruxelles. Signed to the legendary Belgian label Crammed Discs, Bel Canto captured the zeitgeist of European electronic music. With her classy, refined brand of romantic soul, Anita Baker was one of the definitive quiet storm singers of the '80s. Sanchez is a member of the trumpeter's "Organic" Ensemble, whose "Heart's Reflections" also received a 5-star rating on this blog. Smith made one trumpet-piano duo album before, "Interludes Of Breath & Substance" with Matthew Goodheart, which was good, but this one is truly excellent.
